Outer Banks Wedding
OBX Beach Wedding

Non-denominational OBX Wedding Officiant
Let me give you a little background and explanation as to how I became a Wedding Officiant.  First of all...Why Dr Dave?  I have been a practicing Chiropractor since 1998.  My wife and I relocated to the Outer Banks in 2001 looking for a 'change of pace' and immediately joined the family DJ business, (www.soundwavz.com), playing almost exclusively for weddings.  So I have been involved in Outer Banks weddings for the past 8 years.  It wasn’t long before I realized that the aspect I enjoy and respect the most is that moment when the bride and groom exchange their vows and commit to one another before their friends and family, beginning their lifelong journey together.

My wife and I have been married for 15 years and every wedding ceremony I am a part of still reminds me of that magical moment when Father Joe (in his Berks and odd socks) said; “I now pronounce you husband and wife!  You may kiss the bride”  For that reason, I decided that I wanted to be an integral part in the union of two people wanting to share their lives together.  I became an ordained Wedding Officiant in 2005, enabling me to marry two people who are committed to each other.

As I am a spiritual person, I am not personally bound to any one religion at this point in my life.  If you are looking for a spiritual, light-hearted, non-denominational Wedding Officiant to administer your sacred vows as you start your journey through life together...let's talk.

My name is Don Vaquera. I have been a part of the wedding business for over 30 years, both as a musician and DJ. I have worked with countless brides and their families and helped plan and provide music for many ceremonies and receptions.

I took the step as an officiant in 2006, and enjoy bringing a meaningful ceremony to many brides and grooms who wish to have a wedding here on the Outer Banks.

My wife Sue (of 41 years) and I have been on the Outer Banks for 15 years. We have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. We love the people and the visitors here on the OBX- it is a wonderful place to live and get married!

I am the former president of the Outer Banks Wedding Guild and former vice president of the Outer Banks Wedding Association. I served 11 years as public affairs officer in Army Reserve and National Guard. Currently, I provide public relations, marketing and voice over work to local restaurants, that includes Stripers Bar & Grille, Chilli Peppers and The Good Egg.

Hello! I am Rev. Cynthia O'Neil. I have lived in the Outer banks since 1995; but actually met my husband here in 1993 on the beach in Nags Head. We married one year later. And since then I have been in love with weddings!

I enjoyed planning my own wedding so much that I became a wedding coordinator in 1999; helping  a friend who had begun her own planning company. Working with her was an incredible experience and gave me the confidence and opportunity to do some weddings on my own. After she had her third child, she decided she wanted to devote her time to her family and closed her business. At that time, I was preparing to have my second child; so I "retired" as well. But how I missed it!

I was a lector at my church and had a lot of public speaking experience ( I was a radio dj at one time). So when one of my friends told me she was engaged, I decided that I wanted to be her Officiant. By then, my second son was one and my oldest was seven, I felt ready to make the commitment to help others make the commitment. I became ordained and began doing weddings with the referral of Dr. Dave and others in the wedding industry that had known me for years.

From the very first wedding to the most recent, I have loved every minute of it. I enjoyed coordinating but feel that being an officiant is my true calling. I am very spiritual, but am also very laid back, and can make the ceremony anything that you envision, from religious to non religious, Christian to Judaism.

I look forward to working with each couple to incorporate their own beliefs and styles to create the ceremony they dream of. I hope to hear from you and wish you many blessings on your upcoming journey.

I have worked with countless brides to help plan the wedding that they have dreamed about since they were little girls. As the father of 4 daughters, I am quite experienced in the F.O.B. department.

After witnessing so many beautiful weddings over the years, I took the step to become an ordained wedding officiant in 2006, so that I could become an integral part of one of the most important days of your lives. I truly care about the details and want it to be the ceremonyYOU want it to be.
